Sub-Zero refrigeration, specifically

Sub-Zero builds refrigeration and almost nothing else, and it builds it to be installed into cabinetry rather than stood in a gap. That shapes every service call: the units are reached from the front through a top grille, they are specified with the kitchen, and replacing one is a cabinetry decision rather than an appliance decision.

What is particular to Sub-Zero refrigerators

Two sealed systems, not one

Most Sub-Zero built-in models refrigerate and freeze with separate compressors and separate evaporators. A warm refrigerator beside a perfectly cold freezer is therefore not the airflow fault it would be on a single-system appliance — the two halves genuinely are independent, and the working side is useful evidence.

My Sub-Zero refrigerator is warm but the freezer is fine. Is that an airflow problem?
On most built-in Sub-Zero models, no. These units use two separate sealed systems, so each compartment cools independently. A warm refrigerator beside a cold freezer points at that one system rather than at a shared fan or duct, which is the opposite of what the same symptom means on most other brands.
Does the unit have to come out of the cabinet?
Usually not. The design puts the condenser, compressor and controls behind the grille above the doors so they can be reached with the unit in place.
How often should the condenser be cleaned?
More often than most owners expect, because the grille is the unit's only air path. A grille that has matted over is behind a large share of the calls about units running constantly or drifting warm.
